I imagine that most people have more common sense than pitching an article for publication when 10 days postpartum… I, however, did not exercise such prudence last week, and found myself typing away on my phone during those 1am, 3am, and 5am feeds. On one hand, it feels a great accomplishment to produce something other than milk at such hours, but I was glad to finish this piece and no longer have to stare at my phone screen in the middle of the night.
So, here’s my latest two pennyworth for The Catholic Herald. You can blame sleep deprivation for any weakness in my argument.

You know, I'm like this with writing -- it refreshes me. If it's refreshing you, you need it postpartum maybe even more than at other times!
(But don't hesitate to slow down/pull back if things change and you need that instead :)
